Hi all,

I have been testing out Octane and with the latest demo, I have tiny bright pixels that look at first like white but under closer inspection, they are in fact just lighter
in tone than the shaders color. Has anyone else been able to fix that? I am using the 2x2 subsampling.

Cheers,
Mark

These are common at the moment. Use a software hotpixels to remove them. In the next couple releases there will be a solution. If you purchase a license there is a good tutorial of how to help prevent these a little, and also help with the render speed too.
System 1: EVGA gtx470 1280Mb and MSI gtx470 1280 in Cubix Xpander for Octane, AMD 945, 4Gb Ram
All systems are at stock speeds and settings.

there's a public technique i recommend to everyone here, but it requires changing the render resolution, which the demo does'nt do at the moment.

fireflies are a normal side effect of unbiased rendering. we're working on adaptive sampling algorithms that will reduce them for the next release, as havensole said.

Can you make a new post in the resources forum about your tool and where to get it / how to use it ? (i'll make it sticky so it stays on top)

Thnx,
