Also if it is crashing during the Voxelizing phase I have found that this happens, in my scenes, when the model uses more video ram than I have on the card or some vertex/face/edge things are wrong in my mesh. It doesn't take much to fill a 512mb card. I use to use my 8800gt in the beginning and I couldn't do too much without really getting into my model and optimizing it heavily. If you are sure it isn't a memory thing try importing 1 piece of your scene. If that works add another piece (re-export from modeler and re-import to octane). Rinse and repeat. If it crashes at any point you know where there might be something causing an issue. I usually make sure that everything has their faces recalculated outside before exporting to octane as this was a huge headache early on.
System 1: EVGA gtx470 1280Mb and MSI gtx470 1280 in Cubix Xpander for Octane, AMD 945, 4Gb Ram
All systems are at stock speeds and settings.

crash during voxelisation = not enough process / system memory, and it's usually on a 32bit operating system.
on a x64 operating system this won't happen.
voxelisation has nothing to do with GPU memory, nor is it limited in any way by it.

I have the same issue "crashing during voxelizing" However, I know it's most likely something being done on my part, because I can render a few of my own complex scenes, as well as all the ones that you can download in the suite. There's just a choice few that will not load at all. I've tried removing all the textures and materials before I export them from blender, so I know it "shouldn't" be an issue there, as well as turning off the options in octane to import materials and textures. I've even tried going over a few of my scenes, exporting them one mesh at a time into an individual .obj file, just to see which one is causing the problem, and on one of my scenes, it ended up being a simple cube doing it, on another it ended up being a hair particle system that i converted into a mesh. So I'm not 100% sure yet where I'm messing up, but I guess I'll keep experimenting through trial and error and see what I come up with. I do know that I'm using a lower end nvidia card, maybe that has something to do with it?
Anyway, here's my system specs:
BTW, I'm on a Toshiba Satellite A505 laptop
Windows 7 64 bit
Intel Core Duo CPU P7450 @2.13GHz
4GB RAM
Nvidia GeForce GT 230M
All drivers are up to date "Although being that it will render most scenes, I wouldn't expect it to be a driver issue anyway"
Maybe it's just a simple buggy demo version that's the cause. Whatever the case, I purchased a copy anyway because I was so impressed with this software =D. Waiting for the license key is like waiting for Christmas as a kid.. Can't I have just a little peak?

Of course Radiance =)
Thanks in advance if you manage to find out what I messed up

Ok, still haven't figured out what I was doing wrong, BUT!! i found the work around "for me atleast" Feel free to correct me on anything that I guess wrong to, cause that's all this is, an educated guess. Ok, for some reason octane was having trouble importing a scene that used blenders particle system at any point in time. Meaning, although I had converted the hair particles into a Mesh, the fact that they had been particles at one time was still a factor. So, what I did was convert the particles into a mesh then start a brand new scene and load the converted object into that scene, then export it as an .obj file to import into octane. It opened fine without crashing. I even did this backwords, took a complicated scene and then imported the converted particle system into my new scene before exporting to .obj, and once again, worked just fine. Now there's a possibility that I'm way off basis and that in actuality something is happening here that I'm completely oblivious to, but that's my 2 cents worth up to this point
Hi,
The attached OBJ file does'nt seem to be exported with the correct settings.
Please refer to our OBJ export settings post and make sure you use the correct setttings to export OBJ files.
