octane don't run on mac pro

well that's impossible (until you're a Mac OSX developer or a good friend of SJ): the current (public) version is 10.6.4 ;)

someone has reported an issue after updating to the very last OSX version, I'm running fine with 10.6.3 and CUDA 3.1.10

have you installed CUDA drivers + CUDA toolkit + Octane in this precise order? If so try to uninstall everything and reinstall. if still doesn't work please post any additional info on your machine, OS, CUDA and Octane version

if you search in the forums you'll probably find someone else who had the similar problem some times ago (I can't remember exactly right now, sorry)

good luck and let us know if it works

EDIT - just found the 10.6.4 thread (in the customers forum): the new 3.1.10 CUDA driver seems to have solved the problem

you are right, I'm with 10.6.4, and the latest nVidia drivers, 3.1.10, here is crash report:

hi,

gariba -> the missing libglut means you need to install the XQuartx package.
it's linked to on our downloads page.

I'v tried but it didn't work. I heard from people using the new driver from nvidia + CUDA 3.1 and toolkit 3.1 + 10.6.3 and octane working well. I guess is something with 10.6.4 :(.

im using octane on Mac OS X 10.6.4 .. i install Xcode also not for octane .. but usually developer tools add some useful libraries

Hi guys,

we need everyone's problem with more details, if octane does'nt work on your OSX machine, there's likely something not correctly installed,
so we need individual information, eg, the details of the crash report would help.

Hi there!
At least ! I could boot octane on my macpro !

For info, it's a 2.26 xeon.
Octane boots under 10.6.4
Just check that Cuda is up to date in system prefs. (3.1.10) Before I reboot my mac and Cuda rings for the update, octane wouldn't boot at all.
And I (only) have a GT 120

So.

Imported obj, added sky and cam, than crash! :(
very frustrating...

EDIT:
I tried with more simple object (simple revolution on a plane), the crash occur when clicking on the mesh node.
