Hi,
again I have massive problems with huge image format.
I need the passes for "diffuse", "refl-d", "refl-i" and "emit"
I can render the normal image PT (with save image-option) without problems.
But I get a render failure when I try render passes.
Even if I ""only"" select "diffuse" pass i get this error.
Why takes one pass within "render passes" more RAM than
one beauty within normal image save?
Is there another option to get the wanted passes within normal save
linke with "info-passes"?
regards
Mike
Render Failure with Render Passes

We can't do anything for this on 2.x. Each pass will consume some VRAM as main pass. I hope that helps.

Hi Ahmet,
I'm sure in the render-pass system there is a output size limitation.
Somehow - or another error.
I have 2 Titans with 6 GB and in my scene I have 5,42 GB "free" and
overall 1,5 Mio Polygons.
So with only "diffuse" f.e. enabled and all other channels/passes disabled
means with the main pass there needs 2 passes to be rendered.
So I'm absolutely not outside VRam or Tris and I still get the render failure.
The log sais CUDA error unable to allocate enough memory.....
But with 5,42 free and only 1 pass enabled - there must be something other wrong.
Any news about version 3?
regards
Mike

Yes, you have 5,42 GB free. It should be free vram on LV with small render buffer. But how big your render sizes?
3.0 is on the way as i know.

Do you have calculator to multiply width*height*16?miohn wrote:16.000 x 8.000 px
So no chance to get a single reflection-pass?

2.048.000.000
calculated with x8 = 1.024.000.000 and I can render that.
But anyway, I'm not familar with that technical stuff.
But "render region" covering a small area does also not work.
And this is not logical for me, because it reduces the image size a lot.
Another question:
Within info channels (I get them rendered without problems)
I can get AO, and Mat-ID.
Is there a way to get reflection pass as well (maybe a quick solution
to implement this transitionally) via info-channel?

Nearly 2gb per pass+main buffer. No sorry, it's not part of info kernel. Also i don't write the Renderer, you know.miohn wrote:2.048.000.000

sorry that I cannot understand this:
"Nearly 2gb per pass+main buffer"
If I have "only one" pass ( reflect-I f.e.) and the main buffer
means that I have 4 GB to render.
With 6 GB (Titan) why the hell is this not possible?
And why do I get that same error with "render region"
which is only a small part of the image?
sorry
Mike

If you trying to render main+one pass, it would take about 4gb. You should render it. Also you are asking about issues which is not caused by plugin. What can i say more???
