Hello :)
i just bought a new graphic card - GTX 980 Ti and i have problem with DazOctane :
in version 2.2.223.4850 everything is ok,
but i have a projcet to finish in version 1.0.113.2320 and i have a message: unknow Nvidia GPU model found

Any idea how to finish project?:)
when i open it on new version all materials, settings dont work - is there any magic button to export and open old scene in new octane without losing settings?
or how to run new card on old octane?

Thanks for help
Regards

You can't sadly, old octane can't use new card.

So can you put the old card in till the project is done.

Sadly 1.x didn't have the ability to export to the octane standalone. That came later. So you are stuck in 1.x. Sorry to hear your challenge.

yeah I had to leave my 760 in my box as well as my 980ti because I only have 1.2 and it is the only thing it works on :(
all my other GPU based apps use my 980ti inc OR4C and iClone
no not upgrading, not that fond of DAZ studio

Personally I think OcDS v2 is huge step forward compared to v1.2 - if nothing else than feature and stability wise. Sure it still has bugs as it is still a beta, but although I have to rework all the materials in my old 1.x scenes I think it is worth it...

Wendy isn't fond of Studio though, she uses a lot of other software. So upgrading OcDS for studio doesn't make as much sense.

its just a shame I'd have to pay 39 euros with AUD so low just in order to use my 980ti, otherwise it does the job
I can if needed always use the Alembic exporter to the standalone if can be bothered re texturing everything, have done that with dragon 3 HD plonking into an exported OR 4 Carrara scene, so not a huge incentive I am afraid,

I thought I would give the 1.5 version a go and yes it recognizes my 980Ti but only renders one frame and I do animations so back to 1.2 and my 760 I shall go
when I decide to torture myself in DAZ studio
I will not be held to ransom to upgrade , this is why I extol OR4C so much on my YouTube channel it rocks
sorry T_3 but your business model kinda sucks
