I saw in another thread dating back to 2014 that a license plan for "render slaves" is in the works... is there any further information on this? I've been getting to know octane and really enjoying it, I'd like to implement it in our 3D dept at work but I cannot justify the additional cost of €450 per machine when team render is free. Seems somewhat ridiculous, surely I cant be the only one.

If this is not coming any time soon then I'll have to ditch octane for now which would be a real shame.

We are still exploring a cheap/low cost second or third license, which would also allow users to work from home or use as a rende slave. We'll most likely finalize this with octane 3.0 release.

+1 Up vote :)

Would be great to utilize older hardware that's sitting around as a resource without having to buy a full license for it.
