OctaneRender™ for Blender plugin. Windows x64 version.

The bundle consists from two parts:
1. OctaneRender™ Server
2. Blender - OctaneRender™ edition.

The first part (server) should be run on the same computer as the second one. To stop the server - just right-click its icon in the tray.
After the server is run - you can start rendering (or open a rendered view) from inside Blender. Before the very first rendering you should fill in the server address (only 127.0.0.1 at the time), login and password (your license key info) to activate the server. After the first rendering the server will remember this activation info, and you will not need to enter it again.

You should use only OctaneRender materials inside Blender scenes - the plugin knows nothing about Blender specific materials and textures (about any Blender nodes, generally speaking).

FIXES AND NEW FEATURES SINCE LAST RELEASE
  • New 2.24.1 engine.
  • Minor fixes and improvements...

After starting OctaneServer it will take some time before the LiveDB tree and LiveDB material previews will be available from Blender - as OctaneServer caches the LiveDB data from remote server right after starting. But only the materials groups tree will be re-cached every time after server start, LiveDB material preview images will be cached only once - so only the very first OctaneServer start will need some more time before LiveDB tree will be available in Blender.

Is the hair bug fixed (described in the threads below)?

This works without any problems on my scenes. Could you share any scene where it is reproduceable?

I'm sorry, but I don't own the files entirely and can't post them for copyright reasons. I would love to send them if I could since this is a huge problem for me.

I can post screenshots of my particle settings if you want them - but I doubt they'll be of much use, because the other user, Balvarez who's got similar problems, do not share my settings, according to the screenshot in his thread here:

viewtopic.php?f=32&t=49945

So the bug is not limited to my use of curl, contrary to what I thought. And the only thing I seem to have in common with Balvarez is that our files are rather large, and we both use quite thin hairs.

But our 'symptoms' are identical: Entire hair systems completely disappear in the final render, though they are visible in the Viewport.

I got the exact same results each time I tried; correct renders in version 2.21.1-77, and wrong renders in the next versions.

Perhaps Balvarez could send you his file (as he did post .png's here)?

I just test it , seems still can't hide hairs emitter while render.....
will it be possible hide hairs emitter in the future? like cycles just uncheck emitter in the hair's render panel ?

Problem starting Octane Server.
Hi JimStar. I just installed latest version of Octane Blender but getting error trying to run Octane Server:
Program can't start because VCOMP120.DLL is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem
I did try reinstalling the Octance Server but same error ensues. Previous version worked fine. Please advise.
