Lian Li Riser cable

I was planning to extend my 4 gpus farther from motherboard to avoid heating issue by putting riser cables
has anyone had an experience or using this riser ? Lian-Li PW-PCI-E38

It's very interesting if its 50EUR price makes it rock solid. Curious if under the black material there is aluminum foil?

The lenght is good.
I have used some chinese 20cm riser max and works well. I have checked using 2 in series to have more lenght, but doesn't work (quality wire are not good). I have also do it myself with better wire but they have not a good impedance adaptation for PCIe, so doesn't work either.
I think this riser is well quality made (50€ !), so you would not have any pb.

My previous workstation was inside one huge-ass honkin' mofo of a Lian Li case. Very, very well built case. Materials and construction were completely top-shelf. Hopefully they are still making good stuff. Don't see their name as often these days though...

pretty much closer to Lian-Li product, but it seemed this seller got a good feedback from previous buyers which is bought similar product for this guy

I think one of the reasons for those "huge-ass honkin' mofo of a Lian Li case," like the two that I have, aren't [and thus Lian Li isn't] getting as much press these days, is due to Intel's locking down the CPU over-clocking potential of Xeon chips. When Lian Li was getting a lot more press for its huge cases (and, by the way, was when I purchased mine) was during the pre-Sandy Bridge Xeon days. For instance, Nehalem and Westmere Xeon CPUs were overclockable by up to 1.4x. Then dual Xeon motherboards such as the EVGA SR-2 were "huge-ass honkin' mofo [mobos]" and demanded a large comfy, and thus expensive, home to help keep them cool via H20 and such. With the advent of the Sandy Bridge Xeons, and Intel's tying more functions, such as SATA, USB, etc. into the CPU clock, the overclockability of post-Westmere Xeons has been reduced to, at best, 1.0755x on a cloudy day in winter, when the outside temperature doesn't reach 50 degree (F) and no rain is in the forecast, i.e., most of the Xeons are overclockable by 1.02x-1.04x at best. Thus, the overclockers were relegated to particular i7s (single CPU systems) for the best clock advance and the movement to overclock Xeons basically died out, except for mainly the Day Traders. What is to me an unusual outcome of that past movement is that today Supermicro makes the best dual Xeon systems for those few who are satisfied with what we once considered baby overclocks, i.e., 1.05x, through it's DAX line [but Supermicro also sell the cases for the proprietary DAX motherboards - See, e.g., http://www.supermicro.com/products/moth ... Additionally, I like those risers.

Yeah, previous ws was a Dual Opteron. Lian Li seemed like the best case at the time to take E-ATX, that also had the bells/whistles I desired. In reality, this H630 seems almost as big. I love this thing, but the one thing I don't is that it makes some expanding/contracting sounds when I am bangin' renders out. Aluminum (like in the Lian Li) must not expand/contract like steel (which the H630 is)... or maybe it is joints/fasteners making the sounds. Maybe sounds will stop when it's broken in a little more. I dunno. I can only hope.
