Hi there,
I'm using all the latest standalone / plugin (2.24.0) as well as c4d R16.
I get a crash when applying displacement to an object on a large scale scene. It's a pretty serious crash too, and my only option is to hold down the power button on the pc when it happens. ctrl + alt + delete isn't usually responsive.
Just thought I'd let you know about this one, as it's a bit of a pain!
Thanks
displacement crash

Displacement can be very extensive for gpu. Also this is not a bug.

Octane For Cinema 4D developer / 3d generalist

But instead of crashing, Octane should just "exit gracefully," and put up an error message, no?

Sorry but it's not a plugin issue. I don't have any control on this kind of Core features. Also i don't think Otoy team has it. This is not a CPU renderer. In gpu renderers somethings are much harder.jayroth wrote:But instead of crashing, Octane should just "exit gracefully," and put up an error message, no?
Also same problem can occurs on cpu renderers when you hardly increase the parameters.
