As the title says - can Octane Render 2.0 render Blender Hair Particles?
Will Blender Hair settings such as Comb, Children (Interpolated), Length and Density survive the render?
I tried the existing workarounds in the present Blender plugin (thanks to Roubal, Jim and Saramary), but Cycles is still significantly better for this specific purpose.
Octane Render 2.0, however, looks extremely interesting. So it would be terrific if it works with Blender particle systems.

Latest OctaneRender for Blender. Windows 10, i7 quad 3.7GHz, 16GB, 2xTitan.
It does, I don't know if it supports everything (I haven't tried yet), but I have rendered hair with 2.0. In fact hair was one of the major upgrades in 2.0.

Well, this is a really old thread
- Octane Render 2.x is definitely great for hair rendering.
The latest version that works as expected is 2.21.1-77. Hair systems that include various types of curl and clump are not rendered in later versions.

The current blender plugin/octane 2 has some problems with hair. As mentioned curl and clump have problems at render but show up fine in the view port. I also had problems with hair flipping to the inside of the mesh. I'm working on a project that involves a bunch of hair and ultimately I ended up switching to cycles.

Balvarez, you could just get the Octane version I mentioned above - it really works perfectly (i.e. what you see in the view port is what you get in the render).Balvarez wrote:The current blender plugin/octane 2 has some problems with hair.
