Hi
I wonder if Octane team has any plans to create procedural materials for Octane 3 using the new shader language you mentioned (Open Shader Language) and sell them.

I would definitely buy them stuff like grass, wood, rocks, terrain with detailed rocks, pits, grass, rust, dents etc. We use bitmaps it is impossible to achieve anything looking good for animation.

Like Pixar with their procedural textures and shaders for their cartoons. Even in Wall-e all the trash was just a shader and not 3d models.

I think if otoy or professionals who know how to program can create materials for Octane 3 they can make good money off those shaders.

Thank you

I believe this is in the hands of the community, not OTOY. That being said, I've recognized this market and am in the developmental stages of creating such a marketplace. :D

I was writing a post about procedural textures a well. I would love good procedural textures on uv bases, that are smart enough that you do not see the uv seems, Mari's procedural textures can do this. That would make it perfect to use for animation purposes.

Thank you ! I will be your first customer! We use a lot of stuff from pond5 for sound to turbosquid for 3d models.

Procedural textures for sale is a new big market I think.

I hope Displacement will finally work with procedurals in V3, I am missing that very much indeed.
