Hello,

I'm trying to figure out if what I'm trying to do is possible or not. My setup involves a Mix Material (I'm working in C4D by the way but I thought this was a general question) in the mix material I, of course, have material 1 and material 2. In the Mix material I have a channel of relatively complex effects. I have the entire channel from the Mix material copied and pasted into a few areas in my material 2 (diffuse, bump, etc.) I'm trying to figure out if there is a way that once I change things in the mix material it will automatically update all those parameters in my material 2. I thought maybe the Refshader could do this but it seem like I can't reference another material but only a channel from the material I am currently using. Is this true? Any idea how to achieve what I'm trying to do?

Thanks!
Ashly

Did you tried to use the node editor? This way you could connect one node (image texture for example) to drive different values (like bump, diffuse, roughness, etc..)
By the way the node editor works really good and smooth inside c4d right now, give it a try - it׳s much much powerful from c4d way to using shaders.
