First thing to try is once exported, open a new scene in max and import back your obj file, see if it works as it should.
Secondly, I'm not certain if assemblies are supported, try asking in the max exporter forum, but groups work just fine, I use them all the time.
Multi materials are supported and work fine, once in Octane they show like independent materials.
All your materials have to be standard materials, vray, mental and such won't be "translated" by the inbuilt max obj exporter.
Try exporting your scene to a root drive, such c:\ with no folder, open octane and add a new mesh node, if this works you may have a problem with a weird character in one of your folders (I think this is fixed, but you never know with us Ñ users) and mlt files (the ones that contain the texture information of the obj file) are quite a pain in my experience.
If you think your english is not up to the task (no offence), you could ask in the spanish forum (I'm assuming by your name you might from a spanish speaking country)
If all else fails try sending your max, obj, mlt and ocs file over and I'm sure someone will take a look.
Cheers

well, it was just my ass-umption, I didn't have much trouble understanding you, but I'm afraid that's because all mediterraneans must have shared the very same english teacher, and he should be sued!, didn't mean to offend you.
If you can't figure out a solution try uploading a test scene so someone smarter (than me) can check it out.
