I have 2 EVGA 9800 GT running with SLI. Whenever I try to render with octane, it always says "No CUDA Device Selected"!

Hi,
has already said, the 9800 GT is outdated for working with Octane, here is the list of the CUDA cards and their compute model compatibility:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CUDA
Only cards with compute compatibility of 2.1 and above can work with Octane.
It seems that your cards are 1.1 compute model with only 112 CUDA cores each.
Only the old Octane v1.2 could work with your cards but with poor performance in any case.
Octane dislikes SLI, but you don't need to remove the hw connection, just disable the "multi GPU" option in the Nvidia control panel.
