Just released 1.8 b-3 to all licensees. Contains a fix for a rare problem with INSET and also contains a new chapter in the manual about setting up a lawn.

I'm working on a small update!

1. I'll be implementing the option to have a sound that plays when the exporting is complete. Then you can hit export, do other stuff in the meantime while it cooks and then get notified when it's done, so you know when to refresh your scatter nodes in Octane.
2. Next to Perlin noise, I'm trying to implement Simplex noise, essentially this means that the randomization won't be tiled anymore and completely random everywhere. Just like nature!

A quick heads up, it seems something got messed up while syncing the source code over multiple computers. I just noticed the INSET SWITCH function has disappeared in the last build. I'll get it patched ASAP.

Fixed the INSET switch and implemented a new feature that shows the detected INSET edges when WIREFRAME is set to ON.

Phantom Scatter 1.8 b-5 is now available!

Visit the website here: http://scatter.phantomtechnology.nl/

» Fixed function INSET SWITCH

» Added function EXPORT DONE SOUND (found in the MAIN module). When this is set to ON, Phantom Scatter will play a sound when it is done exporting. This is useful when exporting really complex scatters, as it allows you to do other stuff while the export is cooking, and get notified when it's done. Then you don't have to constantly check the software to see if it's done anymore.

» When WIREFRAME is set to ON, Phantom Scatter will now show the detected edges of the currently selected scatter surface in orange (the lines are not affected by 3D depth so you will be able to see them very clearly). This only works when you have imported your *.OBJ model when INSET SWITCH was set to ON.

» Fixed a problem where certain edges did not apply the INSET correctly.

Phantom Scatter 1.9 is in production, one of the new features is an improved GUI which gives slightly more user feedback (and looks a lot better  )

Guus,

What is the current limit for obj file size on which objects are scattered? Will I be able to populate stones, grass on a 500mb file?

Smicha, about 100 MB. So I'm afraid you're going to have to break it up.
