Hi all,

we have a landscape-szene with some trees (instances) and 3 driving vehicles on the road - with OctaneDayLight and two Octanearealights per car - with motionblur.
7 mill. polygons are in this szene. If we want to render it, the first frame needs over 50 minutes to start. It´s too long!?!?
How can we start it faster?

Thanks.

it should start within 1-2 minutes maximum. It depends to material's content and polygon counts. If you have lot of c4d shaders to need converted images can take some time. But not so long. Second if you have lot of movable objects(more than 10-15K), this can cause unexpected problems.

What do you see in statusbar messages? Mostly where it spend the time? Can you test it deleting all materials also try to delete some other objects until catch the problem.
