Hi,
got a rig with 2 GTX980ti and not sure what i need to "tweak" in the OC panel to get even better performance.

Thanks.

Tom, thanks for your interest to helping me out.

they are PALIT GTX980 ti enthusiast edition .. straight forward : no OC, no SC, no VAT , no SUGAR, no MILK ...
their temps do not exceed 73 upper card,75 lower card under full load. they have a slot in between as a gap.

Octane Bench result:
Octane version:
2.17
Operating system:
Windows 7 64-bit
Devices:
GeForce GTX 980 Ti
GeForce GTX 980 Ti

Could not google out exact model from what You gave, do You have a link for the card?
(guess it's reference, isn't it? =)

mm.. I'd say get Afterburner or smth simillar like PrecissionX &:

1. try to tweak fan curves to drop temperatures down - under load,
2. Push up temperature target to smth like 85C so You throttling would kick lit bit later,
3. bump core using incriments to somethign like 100 or 150 (might be able to get higher)
4. then You can add somethign some for memory .. (300, 400, maybe 500)

..after every tweak run OctaneBench.. & other tests - seak for any sight of instability..& monitor temperatures while running..

if You push fans far close to max, You might be able to bump core speeds quite a bit. Hard to predict any outcome as result depends more on the luck (quality of Your GPU).

Since You're on air.. YOu might end up having 10% maybe slightly more of actual performance bump (..if You're ok to have sound of vacum cleaner under load =)

for anythign more, You have to look for alternative cooling: AIO, hybrid, full custom loop etc. then maybe 20-30% possible, though I don't think setting full loop is a good deal untill You have like 3-4 cards, looking purelly from value perspective (as You spend more than YOu gain)

Tom,
the card is http://www.computeruniverse.net/en/prod ... asp#review

What is your opinion is it better
1) to have 3 cards in one machine or 2 in master and 1 in a slave, (this is better for cooling i guess)

2) 2x980 master and 2x (2x980 slaves) is this worthy/speed loss ?

thanks man , owe you a beer.

neither..save extra cost in hardware & licence - get 3Cards udner full loop in single machine.

Technically You can end up with 450points (using 4x gm200 based cards) running cool (less than 50C under full load 24/7), making little to no noise.. - more performance for than two machines for the same budget =)

Read this for inspiration: Value based build for Octane Render

more to come..
cheers.
