Hi,
I'm facing a really strange issue with Octane for MAX
for some reason bitmaps are not rendered in Material editor nor do they show on objects that have the material applied to.
All the swatches next to Octane specific maps are black.
Would you have any idea on what's causing that?
I'm using the most recent Octane plugin for MAX as well as MAX 2015 if that helps anything.
Thanks in advance for all your possible help.
Not sure if this is also a part of the problem but when my viewport is in 'Realistic mode' all objects appear black as well. Odd...
Bitmaps not showing in material editor nor on objects.

Same problem here with newest version of the Max Octane Live DB. version 2.23.2 - 1.8
Cannot get bitmaps to download into the materials or anywhere else.
It was so easy in previous versions.
Right clicking offers two options: import or copy
The copy option does nothing as far as I can tell.
The import option does not import the bitmaps.

In my case I can actually see the downloaded texture bitmaps in the relevant folder specified in the Render Settings, but even after pointing the shader to the bitmap again and clicking reload nothing really happens, the bitmaps are still invisible on the actual material as well as the corresponding thumbnail...
This seriously impacts the functionality of Octane for me... Please, if anybody knows what would be the cause of that, let us know.
Thanks!

I made a new folder on the C drive called Octane Textures which where I was able to get bitmaps to download.
Some materials download, some don't.
Some that download do not have their full characteristics, like specular settings.
The ones that are complete render just fine.
Kind of hit and miss.

I can confirm that pointing the LiveDB folder to anything else than the default folder fixes the problem of texture visibility on a material. They display and render correctly now, however there seems to be still the issue of maps not appearing on thumbnails in the slate material editor. They only appear as black squares. I'm also guessing that it might be related to the fact that in my viewport, Octane materials turn any object they get applied to into a completely black mesh, rendering them invisible in the 'Realistic' shading mode and most of the cases in 'Shaded' mode as well, effectively forcing me to work with wireframe edges on (problematic with for example dense Zbrush meshes) or in clay mode...
Any idea how to work around it?

Same problem here in max 2016. What version of max and Octane plugin actually show textures in viewports and in slate material previews?
