hi, Huso!
it doesn't matter what You render =) everything starts with good lighting. So I would recommend to start from there: drop base geometry & setup something nice using HDR maps (I've wrote small tutorial on Peter Guthrie's site about that a while ago). This might help You out a bit.
"But I want interior tutorial.." - You might say =) with interiors You deal in a very simple way. Try to think where the light comes, what other sources You have & add them. Lear a bit more about how photographers approach product (furniture) shots & do tweaks accordingly. what do I mean with that? Well..
You might not need full interiors, if You rendering only a single shot =) once You close the room, it gets much more complicated to calculate lighting. So if You for simple output, I'd recommend having floor + wall ( in some cases some softboxes & other lights to make things realistic =) - here's a simple free scene to illustrate that
If however You would like to have full interior (without any cheating), again do that, but remember all techniques photographers use in order to get nice shots =) a lot of those lighting fundamentals stands on a solid ground for visualisations too (balance Your light - it will make Your renders going faster; make it interesting - so it wouldn't be flat; work systematically - place base lighting & then start 'detailing' using smaller accent lights; etc.)
The best way is always to start & post some progress on these forums =) there are a lot of users that happily would give You some comments & critics about Your work if You want that. This route will bring You results way faster than any tutorial would, as every situation is slightly different (unless You go for that copy pasted look).
Also, get some good references to have a clear direction where You're going, what output style You're aiming =) this would narrow down techniques & points You to iterate with certain goal mind =) also other can give You much more relevant advices - highly recommend to open a WIP thread.
hope that helps a bit.
