Juanjo the way LW instancers work with Octane I wonder if it's possible to tweak this a bit so the check tick in the Object Properties --> Instancer Tab can enable/disable LW instancers? The way it works now is you have to open each instancer and check/uncheck each object within the instancer. While this has it's advantages, it would be most helpful to also be able to disable the whole instancer.

On a side note, this also applies to the 'LWOctane Object Properties Options' currently check/uncheck' LWoctane object properties' has no effect.

My guess is if this was possible you probably would have implemented it this way from the start, but I have my fingers crossed this is doable.

Cheers,
Dino.

Disable the Octane Object Properties plugin could be possible, I will add it to my TODO list, but it is not possible enable/disable the instancers rendering using the ticks. There is a limitation in the current Layout SDK and it is not possible for more than one instancer ... anyway I will check it again in the next LW version.

Actually, I just tested this just for fun :)

Here is how Octane behaves based on my test:

Object with one LW instance generator: you CAN use the check box to turn the instances on and off
Object with multiple LW instance generators: you CAN use the check box of FIRST instance generator to turn on or off ALL instancers but you cannot do that for individual instancers :)

Yes, this is the limitation in the LW SDK. I can't get the check state of the individual instancers, only the state of the first one.

With SDK limitations what's the usual procedure ie: when you encounter SDK limitations are they automatically sent to Newtek or is that at the discretion of the plugin developer, also are end users like myself encouraged to submit a request to Newtek?

Cheers,
Dino.

Usually I send to the LW dev. team the bugs or feature requests I find in the SDK. The team is aware about this limitation, but it has not been fixed yet. Sometimes is not easy fix this kind of problems in the LW SDK due to the old architecture of the software, or because a needed SDK change can break all the current plugins.
