made a mailer header graphic ( not really a done deal yet ), but I admittedly took longer to model this than I care to admit, so I'd like it if I don't have to change it :)

I smoothed in PS (smart blur) and cropped/re-sized it down a bit.

Crits welcome ( be gentle :P :) )

(it's a dolly on tracks - 3D track/planar motion is the theme driving it)

I like the result, and I like the idea, quite visual and clear.

Initially I was just going to put the words 3D Motion on the dolly on the tracks, but I don't think that it would be clear enough to people that it meant 3D track motion ( Clever little Ideas to me, are just usually confusing to the masses :) ).

glad you like it.

There's detailed modeling on the wheels bolts, like a nut to screw into, and a little extra bump on the tip of the opposite end that no-one sees and was almost entirely pointless to spend the time doing, plus a locking handle on the dolly handle, and a separated spinning portion of the handle. Just pointless stuff based on final results and the small overall size, but I wasn't sure exactly what I was going to do with it while making it.

nope, the wheels are touching the rails.

The design of the dolly wheels makes them able to be seen on either side from some angles ( the one used in the image ) but it's touching the track all around.
