Hello!
I´m pretty new to Octane and I have tried to search for an answer before posting this.
I have 2 issues:
1. When I´m lighting a scene with an HDRI by using a "Texture environment" and load a "RGB image" to it I always have to change the gamma from 2.2 to 1.0 to have the HDRI cast light correctly.
Shouldn´t you be able to load an HDRI to light your scene without having to change the gamma? This is only regarding the "Texture environment", other textures load correctly with gamma set to 2.2.
It´s not a big thing, but I´ve forgotten to change several times and wonder why my scene won´t render correctly.
In every other render I´ve tested you never have to "fix" HDRI lighting, you just load it up and hit render.
2. This is about connecting bitmaps/textures to a material:
The most logical for me is when I connect a texture to diffuse, bump, roughness etc the texture overrides the color or a value in a material. At the moment this is not the case, I always have to go in to the material and change from color/value to texture.
However when I connect a texture to a mix texture or a multiply texture the bitmaps overrides the color as it should.
This feels very inconsistent to me and I think a texture or bitmap should always override. You don´t connect a texture to the diffuse if you don´t want it there?
This is not a big fix, I think? But I´ve spent too much time trying to figure out what´s wrong when it´s simply that I forgot that textures doesn´t automatically override color/value!
If there´s any logical decision behind this or if I´m doing something wrong please let me know.
Cheers,
