I haven't seriously used the standalone in years, but since I don't think I can use the plugin to do a 360 degree render I was going to try the standalone. The last time I exported a scene from 2.x to standalone was just a test, and it worked fine with no issues. However that was some time ago and probably a few plugin updates ago.
Today I have tried OCS and ORBX and neither file seems to work in the standalone. For one I think the files have to be too small, they are only about 1 mb for the ORBX file. Anyone have any ideas?
I just realized I still have a third install of DS on my computer that I used shortly for 1.2, i'll upgrade that to an older version of 2.x and see what happens.
Anyone else with problems exporting to Standalone? (SOLVED)

I use the standalone all the time. My Daz plug in uses my spare video card, and the standalone both. I'm lazy and its a matter of convenience. If out of core textures are used, it must be enabled in both programs or you get an error.

yeah i made sure out of core textures were enabled but my scene didnt need it. Are you using the latest plugin or the older one? I have no issues with 2.15, but 2.23 is not working properly
I know its not a problem with the stand alone, the plugin isn't exporting the right amount of data. A scene with a few genesis figures and an environment should be more than 1 MB. If i use 2.15 even a single figure takes 9 mb, which makes sense.
I tried exporting the same basic figure out of both versions and the file sizes are hugely different. problem is none of my work is in 2.15...so i can't just load them up in that and export.

I think i figured it out...second...
OH. the 2.15 release gives you an error message if you don't start the render first before exporting. 2.2 does NOT give you that warning. that was my issue.
