Wow that looks awesome! Subdivide those branches, add some bump to them, and it would look even better!

with sss it would look much better, perhaps you can try with a slight glossy transparency

This seems to me is a xfrog model, no?
If so, you really need to hand edit some of the tree net to fix those branches in the end, connecting with flowers.
About faking SSS, do as suggested, but do it with diffuse transmission channel instead of glossy transparency.. in pathtracing mode..

amazing, looks very very realistic.
maybe a bit of dffuse transmission on the leaves and it would be perfect ;)
nevertheless it's a real nice gallery quality render as it is, can i add it ?

Nothing complicated! Model is made in GrowFX. Selecting an appropriate camera angle, set the depth of field. Film Kodak Ektachrome 100 plusCD.
