hi

just a quick question.

i have never used normal maps before, and i'm now trying to find out how to handle them.

first, as i understand, normal maps are used to add details - i guess?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Normal_mapping

are normal maps just added like "rgb image" or?
(the files i have are tga files)

thanks

Hi,

You can use it as "rgb image" under Normal Node of your materials. It is very similar to Bump Map. Programs such as Pixplant can generate normal maps from given texture maps.
