Hi,

Please read the release notes on our demo downloads page and install everything that's required for octane to run.
this message means the cuda toolkit / driver is'nt installed.

Also, in the future a hello and some more information would be nice.

hi ,

I was so excited to get Octane run on mac ... Thanks for quick response .. after i posted thread .. i read it and know its related to cuda .... so i started downloading every thing ..

One more question ...will octance support network rendering in future ... and which Card do you recommend on mac ? Quadro Fx4800 or Geforce 285GTx

we currently recommend getting a PC ;) but the GTX285 is the best for mac available, however i'd consider booting into windows to use octane and getting a GTX400 series.

but after years of experience with windows crashes and problems i switch to mac .. even i traded 3ds max for maya bcz max isn't compatible with Mac ...

Even my office started to switch to mac .. because high-end HP z800 / xw8600 with dual qaudro FX5600 and ton of ram keeps crashing .. So keep MAC users in mind for future development :)

I had no problem with octane in mac since I switch to 10.6.4 ( don't use it) and I'm using a hackintosh :lol: . I had some problems with the export plugin for maya but i guess that will be fixed in the next version :).

I don't have nay prob with Mac pro .. before i switch .. i used hackintosh for one year .. then switch to perfect mac pro .. Mac pro is cheaper than HP workstations ... but macbook pro are expensive then other laptops

No way to run Octane here, tryed in two Mac Pros, both with nVidia 8800, intalled latest drivers, toolkit, software just don't launch, keep crashing and asking for libglut.3.dylib...

Hi,

the libglut issue means you're probably running 10.5 and have not installed the XQuartz package, there's a link on our downloads page to it.
