Hi all
in my workflow never exceed 6Gb but today. i have titan and 780 both 6gb. 780 is the primary, so connected to display.
what i couldnt understand is 780 is using almost 6gb of all while titan around 1.5gb. should they use smilar amout of memory, shouldnt they?
i hadnt noticed that 780 was running on the edge until i enabled AO and z depth channels under render passes tab. it failed rendering! dark screen for a while then c4d crashes.and says nvidia drivers stopped responding. btw nowadays after updating 16.050 or latest nvidia drivers, i sometimes having same crash no matter if i work or just surf on internet.(c4d oppened in the backgrond always)
someone has any opinnion?
cheers Hüseyin

hi Hüseyin,
maybe it's not your case, but have you disable the "Multy-GPU" option in Nvidia control panel?
If enabled, sometimes it gives some troubles with the correct usage of VRAM
The best setup for Octane is always to have a dedicated GPU for displays only, in this way the VRAM dedicated to Octane is not reduced by the system and display
ciao beppe p.s. Sorry for the italian screenshot

thanks Beppe. yes the best having a gpu only for display but sametime it is waste of an empty slot.
btw possible to dedicate cpu for this job with new intel cpus, ain't it?

Hi,
we can already use the iGPU inside CPU for display, from what I have understood, when Octane 3 will arrive, we should be able to use the iGPU also for calculating the render beside the ATI and OpenCL support
