The live viewer takes a really long time to load. Sometimes it just freezes and I am forced to quit the application.
Any idea how to solve this? Octane is really fast but this just takes away from the workflow.
Why does the live viewer take so long to load?

what kind of scenes which are talked here? Which version? Which parameters are enabled on Live Viewer?
You write very common words and i can't understand how is your Octane knowledge! Octane is GPU renderer and geometry compilation is slow. You should use the lower polygon count as much as possible.
Also we made some ways to make your life easier. But are you know that how is the general workflow of plugin? Are you clicking the Restart button on every changes? Have you watched the last tutorials?

Yes sorry aoktar,
I'm new to octane and just starting with the gpu setup here.
I'm working with a 3 million polygon scene, of two buildings with some hi resolution trees and some render instances. I'm using the 2.23.2 rc1 version plugin on cinema with two macs. One with two titan x cards and the other with two gtx 780 cards.
I'm using the standard settings of the live viewer I just hiked up the samples to 2700. I'm rendering with no problem to the picture viewer, but the live viewer just shuts down on me. After I render an image on the picture viewer the live window freezes.
When you try to move the camera the cinema viewport adjusts but the live window doesn't react and then I get the color wheel. I resend the scene and wait for it to load but I only get the color wheel.

Is the "Auto" mode enabled in LV->Updates->geometry? Try to disable and test again. Also try simple scenes and give me feedback what happens!andresojeda wrote:Yes sorry aoktar,

Also, Watch this: http://inlifethrill.com/trainings/real- ... cinema-4d/
And then try to optimize your live viewer updates. it׳s indeed make sense that in very heavy scenes your live viewer will significantly decrease your work inertactivity.

Thank you Yambo for the link.
I have experimented with the settings but in fact what I have found out is that when I send the scene I have to wait until the image appears in the live viewer. If I touch anything before the image appears cinema freezes and I get the color wheel and have to force quit the app. The thing is that there is no progress indicator of how long it will take or any indication at all that the computer is working on the build. After the image appears then everything works fine.

When you send data to LV and touch anything in scene, it will refresh some data to allow you can work in interactive mode. This process is for "Check Geometry is enabled". You can work fluidly after data is prepared for interactive mode.andresojeda wrote:Thank you Yambo for the link.

In normal systems, we don't get any freeze or crashes when we touch the windows or somewhere while waiting. For example, a scene with 5-10 millions polyons, renderinstances, totally with a few thousand objects can take about 1min. preparation time before render session. But I need more info or visuals to help you. Gpu priority is low or medium and activated?

I get it that the scene takes some time to load but there should be some progress indicator so that the user doesn't think that the software is frozen.
