Yes, it is sad, that there arent more makers like EVGA providing these cards with high quality copper blocks, a triple connect bridge and standard connections etc to fit into any custom waterloop ... would make it so much easier than this nervousness I have, when taking the aircooling off ... always fearing I'll rbeak somethig on these hideously expensive cards. 100$ extra is just what I pay for a good quality block anyway :)

I want a couple of those EVGA Hybrid 980Tis... when will they ever have stock though?!! Especially in Canada...

Maybe buying reference for now is better, then buy a the Hybrid kit later.. Or maybe cheaper is NZXT Kraken G10 bracket with Corsair H75??
Seen some vids on youtube that looks fairly straight forward to install, apart from carefully cleaning and reapplying new thermal paste.
I'm tempted to buy a set at only around $100 and apply to my Asus Strix 780 6GB.

Would those be better or wait for EVGA Hybirds, or you guys think its better I stick with reference coolers?
Problem is I don't want all that hot air bouncing around inside the case...at least hybrid coolers/rads pump it out and allow for higher over clocking?
I only have a HAF-X so I don't have the space for some crazy custom WC setup but I can make space for a couple of 140 rads...

I'll probably be selling my 4GB 980 or putting it in another machine now..

Why the hybrids, if you want several .. Hydrocopper in a custom loop is the better idea.

two hybdris would cost 200$ more than regular cards.. two Hydro copperrs would cost more for cards only & then for the rest of the loop - so full loop is worth only if You have at least 3-4 cards =) value wise those HYbrid approaches (with included AIO) is really good deals =)

Yeah, I think I can only really fit 3 cards in my case (plus potentially 750ti as monitor card still if it fits), and I was planning to get 2 hybrid 980tis.. (and keep 780 6gb)
'A couple'= two :)

I'll look into those hydro coppers... I'm sure they'd perform better (though more$), its just getting a full water-cooling loop setup in my HAF-X case may be tricky...
May as well do a full new build at that point, and relegate the HAFX to an additional network render PC...

I could fit 4, but still only run 3 ... I'd run out of PCI slots with these big cards, even the hydro ones use up the neigbours space. I wanted to keep one free for a PCIe SSD.

Single slot cards might be an option =) if You have full covew waterblock the only thing that is going itnto the way of second slot is i/o bracket with one connector =) cut the balls for that GpU & You have single slotter =) or ask omeOne to delid contacts properly =)
