Are the 10€ more worth it in comparison to the regular version if you don't want to overclock the card yourself?
It's 100MHz more on base clock.
GTX 980 Ti Superclocked (Reference Cooler)
Octane for 3ds Max v2.21.1 | i7-5930K | 32GB | 1 x GTX Titan Z + 2 x GTX 980 Ti
When you stack 4 of them next to each other they will downclock anyway due to heat. It's not a big deal to set core clock +100mhz, isn't it? The question is - does OC version deliver extra power, such as asus strix? If so, it would be a great overclocker on water.

I think most of 980ti on the market are reference PCB for now, without any crazy hybrid cooler or waterblock hooked on custom loop there's no benefit to get any 'better' than stock. & don't take one with backplate - it doesn't help, but rather choke card placed near =)
That's right. And a backplate is a great addon only if it comes with a waterblock - EK done great job with latest pure nickel backplates.glimpse wrote:I think most of 980ti on the market are reference PCB for now, without any crazy hybrid cooler or waterblock hooked on custom loop there's no benefit to get any 'better' than stock. & don't take one with backplate - it doesn't help, but rather choke card placed near =)

There is an exception to backplate of one card helping to fry neighboring card if one leaves large enough gaps between PCIe cards directly slot inserted. If one is thinking outside of the box, literally, one can riser above such circumstances and make whatever residential boundaries are appropriate to virtually eliminate that threat and not lose the benefit of available PCIe slot openings. In fact, thinking fully outside of the box might allow one to recover slot(s) previously blocked by double width or wider cards.glimpse wrote:I think most of 980ti on the market are reference PCB for now, without any crazy hybrid cooler or waterblock hooked on custom loop there's no benefit to get any 'better' than stock. & don't take one with backplate - it doesn't help, but rather choke card placed near =)
Because I have 180+ GPU processers in 16 tweaked/multiOS systems - Character limit prevents detailed stats.
