I am trying to Network render with two slaves on very. 2.23 In Maya 2015

In the stand alone I see two of two slaves and both slaves participate in the render.

In Maya:
Network preferences window sees both slaves and it show them both active enabled and active

In the render window only one of the slaves participates

They are all on the local network

Any ideas?

Thanks

Peter

I am actually having the same problem. A slave machine that I've never had trouble with before, the octane slave is now randomly crashing and disconnecting on me.

No reply for a while Jim Star...

Network Rendering seems flaky in Maya.

In non batch rendering mode sometimes I often have to restart the slave even though the network preferences show it as enabled and allowed.

When I quit the renderview window it stays in running mode and the GPUs are running even though I am not rendering in Maya. Not until I QUIT maya does it dis-engage!

In batch mode... I can't get the slaves to work at all.

I can render a still in 25 seconds in non batch mode because the slaves kick in. In batch mode it takes 2 minutes per frame so i need the slave to work.

ANY ideas Jimstar... your'e working away on something cause its been quiet for a while : > )

A new note to above post... when I quit the batch render the slave daemon shows Stopped Logging on same date and time.

That tells me that the batch render was "talking to" the slave but not engaging the GPU's.

When I quit Maya the app but the batch is still active it shows that it is logged on.. but no GPU activity.

Does Maya use the slaves in Batch render mode?

I should add that I am running the Maya master on an OS X machine and the slaves are on a PC

Looking forward to some input JimStar
