Hi,
I'm at the tail end of a rather long project containing one long continuous camera move (~2 minutes).
Unfortunately as is often the case there are amends and I've had to render out some patches to deal with various issues.
Recently I've found that with large flat areas that have a matte material applied to them that there are inconsistencies in the darkness of the shadows, which makes comping these patches very difficult.
I'm using c4d r16, 2.16 on a win7 pc with a win8 as a slave. 2 970s on the master and 3 on the slave.
Currently my workaround is just to keep restarting the render until I get a matching alpha, which luckily isn't too bad as the patch is only about 40 frames, however I would love to know if anyone has an actual fix.
inconsistencies in alpha

Yes - that's right. Unfortunately on 2.16 they don't work, and I don't want to risk wrecking this project by attempting to use the latest RC.
To be honest I was only wondering if anyone else had experienced this issue and if so what workaround they used. It may be that the problems are due to user error!
I've been able to rectify the problem with a bit of colour correction so no massive urgency.
