Hi,
I was using DAZ plugin, but found no displacement in any of the materials (diffuse, glossy, specular etc.). I am quite new to this plugin. Does someone know how I can add it to them?
How do I use displacement in DAZ plugin

Not all transfers from the original daz textures to Octane work seamlessly, so you may have to do some legwork.
First check what the materials are in Daz, and preferably check out the directory where the textures are located. Make sure what you want is there.
If it indeed wasn't automatically transferred over, then you'll need to do it by hand. Go into the Node graph editor and add a displacement map, and set it up. Scale tends to be a bit confused. Too big is a mess, too small not noticeable. I think I normally put the offset at -.5 of the amplitude. You can also select the displacement resolution, set it to something high if you're looking for more detail. This is a render I did to play with displacement.

Also, look up displacement in the core manual. Its got some more details which you will find useful to know.

Dear Hydra,
Thank you for your reply. However, my problem is, I don't know how to add a displacement map. Not like in Octane stand alone version, there is a "displacement" in the materials. But in DAz plugin (at least mine) no such thing in any of the materials (there are diffuse, specular, bump, opacity though, just no displacement). How did you add that? Sorry if it's a stupid question. I'm new to this plugin.

It's under shaders when you add a node. It always takes me a few to find it.dpliu wrote:Thank you for your reply. However, my problem is, I don't know how to add a displacement map. I presume you are using a version older than 2.x, which did not support displacement, or you need to reinstall from the first post in the first stickied thread of the Daz Studio plugin subforum (says 2.15 prerelease in caps, can't miss it).
