When I pause the Octane Viewport or when it has completed rendering the set number of samples, my cards continue to crank away as if they are still rendering, albeit with less horsepower -- they cool down somewhat but not a lot and the fans are still working hard. I find myself compelled to frequently close the viewport just to give the cards a break and then have to reopen it and wait for the scene to load.

It seems like it would be possible to keep the scene in GPU ram without using a lot of power, but what do I know :)
If erasing the scene from GPU RAM is the only way, then perhaps this could be a radio button toggle option in the viewport itself, so at least we can keep it open and if we un-pause an incomplete render or make a change to the scene, it automatically reloads the scene.
