- Operating System (ie. OS X 10.10.3)
- Amount of RAM: 32 GB
- Graphics Card(s) - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M 4096 MB
- Cuda driver version: 6.5.51
- GPU Driver Version: 10.2.7.310.41.25f01
- Poser version: 10.0.5.28925 PoserPro 2015
- OctaneRender for Plugin version: 2.22.2.46
Here are the steps that I do:
Load an item or even a few items into Poser.
Open the Octane Render Plugin.
Open Viewport
Click on the 'Material' tab within the Octane Plugin
Poser crashes.
Hopefully I successfully uploaded the cuda.log and octaneplugin.log to help with this.
This happens like 99% of the time. The one way I think I get around Poser not crashing is to save my file before going to the 'Material' tab. But this is not always the case.
If you need anymore info or log files, please let me know.

Hi Victor. Was the previous version of the plugin crashing too? If not, what was the release number of the previous version. Can you send me an OSX crah report pls?
If you open the plugin, then click the Octane Log button, are there any log messages?
The octaneplugin.log file indicated that Poser was started and then stopped, and there was no crash. Did you upload the correct file?
Thanks
Paul

Ok, I just loaded a scene that I had saved. Opened up the Octane Plugin, opened the ViewPort, then went to the Materials tab. Poser crashed.
I uploaded the OS X crash report as well as the current cuda.log and octaneplugin.log files. I think the octaneplugin.log file did increase in size so hopefully it will show you more than the last one.
To answer your questions:
- The previous version and version of the plugin did cause the crash.
- If I click on the 'Show Log' button in the Cuda tab, this is what it shows:
Started logging on 01.05.15 20:51:01
OctaneRender version 2.22.2 (2220002)
I hope this helps out more than the last files I uploaded.

Also - I am not getting the crash - but on an older OS versions than you. I'm on Poser Pro 2014 SR3, and Mavericks 10.9.4. I'll update to PP2014 SR5 and test that later today. My current guess is that it is something to do with Posers wx.Python and the UI changes to Yosemite - but the crash report will confirm that.

Ah, I did not know the crash report had to be zipped. No wonder I was having trouble trying to upload it before.
I hope this helps out, and thank you so much for your efforts in this matter.

Thanks for the crash report. This is a recurrence of http://render.otoy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=45&t=39222, which was due to a wxPython bug on OSX (http://trac.wxwidgets.org/ticket/10085) which was fixed on a latest version of wxPython than Poser supports. I had found a workaround to fix this, but for some reason on your OSX system this is not working. It is either due to Yosemite and the later version of Poser that you are running. I will investigate some more and try to find a solution.

Hi Victor - I just updated to Poser SR 5 (same version as you) and cannot get the crash (even after 20mins for changing node types etc the cause the tree to refresh).
If you switch the Render Priority to Low (and click Apply), does it still crash?
Have you ever had the plugin working? If so, which OSX version and plugin version was it with? Did it start crashing when you updated to Yosemite, or when you updated the plugin?
Thanks
Paul

I had the Render Priority already on Low and it would still crash.
The plugin has worked fine initially in the past and I wish I could remember which version it was. Maybe like two or three versions ago. I believe this issue was working fine when I updated to Yosemite.
The thing is, when I can get to the Materials tab, then everything works great and I can move from tab to tab with no problems. If the issue is going to happen, it only happens when I open the View Port and then click on the Material's tab for the first time.
Oddly enough, yesterday I would open Poser, add an item, open the Plugin, open Viewport and go to the Materials tab and it worked just fine.
This time I loaded a Scene that I had saved and it crashed right when I clicked on the Material's tab. I attached the OS X crash report which I hope helps.
