Hello
I just installed the standalone and maya plugin (2.22.2) and to be honest am very confused about the workflow. Before I was using the demo version in blender and it was very smooth.
I have some general questions mostly about the IPR:
1. The changes in mesh (translate, rotate etc.) are not reflected in the ipr window until I hit the refresh button, am I doing something wrong? Comparing to render view in blender this is not very efficient. Changes to materials (color etc) work, I also managed to get the changes to lights (translation, rotation etc) work after I switch on movable proxy (found on the forums).
2. Object that are parented to camera movement don't update their position in the IPR after frame change. Have to hit refresh.
3. Image sequence textures on the objects parented to camera are not updating in the IPR after I change the frame number. Have to hit refresh.
In short words - I would like to avoid hitting refresh button every single time. Is there some solution to this?
Thanks in advance
Peter

In case that link text didn't explain it --
The unusual thing about Octane (compared to other render engines in Maya) is that many things won't do realtime updating in the IPR until you've gone into each object and applied an Octane geometry type. You'll find this setting at the bottom of the attribute editor in "Extra Attributes". By default it's set to "Global", which means it won't update any translation/scale/rotation until you hit refresh. Movable proxy will allow you to see translation/scale/rotation updates in realtime, Reshapable proxy is for skinned objects, and Scatter is for instances of the same object so that Octane can save memory loading the same object lots of times (grass, crowds, cities, etc).
