Hi I read octane will have clouds etc that you can create from the primitives.
But will octane 3 have atmospherics like blueish horizon, clouds (automatically created like in Ozone 6)
Thank you

Thanks Glimpse.
So I guess unlike other renderers where atmospherics are just created. in octane we have to create giant cuboids and assign what it is fog, clouds. etc.

V3 will have a medium pin and a thickness in the environment nodes. -> You won't have to create an outer volume and a sphere around the camera anymore.

Will volumes render quicker than the dog of a solution we have to use now (ie the sphere trick)? Thats the big one for me. If volumes still take a decade to render the easier setup will not make much difference.

+! And i hope Octane will use system like Ozone 6 where you can create rain (that uses path tracing to calculate), clouds of different types, haze, fog, mist, rainbow, volumetric light etc.
Main reason we do not use it is it is so slow.
Hopefully it will generate environment like these pictures

Ok,

Does any of "industry standard" engines (V-Ray, Mental Ray, Maxwell Render, etc.) have this type of Atmospheric capabilities? As far as I know, not..only specialised plugins that support some of those engines..

Now Ozone is develop by the same company that develops Vue, XStream, etc. - Do you have an idea how long they focus on this technology? Probably longer than Octane Render exists..

So to sum up, "don't judge a fish by it's ability to climb trees".
I'm not to say I would not like to see this, but..
Octane is Render engine.
