This is beta.i of the Octane Sketchup Exporter tool
Octane_1022i.zip
(248.46 KiB) Downloaded 480 times
It marks something of a 'watershed', as it now should give a fully working version for PC AND Mac.
The Mac .command file issues seem to have been resolved successfully...
There are also some miscellaneous changes - UI cosmetic improvements, typo corrections etc, so PC AND Mac users should upgrade to this latest version.

Please extract the zipped files/subfolders and overwrite all earlier beta version with them - following the instructions in the enclosed OctaneHelp.PDF as needed...

The only major 'issue' outstanding is the specifying of GPUs but this seems to be not with the tool but rather within Octane itself ?
At their next beta it might be resolved...

The disabled auto-deletion of the cmd/command files will be enabled once we go out of beta to the first 'stable' release [shortly] - unless a majority of users press for them to be left behind for their own purposes ? [they do allow you to re-render without re-writing the obj/mtl/textures which could be a speedier option with very large geometries when making minor tweaks to the ocs ??]

As ever, feedback please on any aspect of this tool...

Hi TIG

Something build up with this version, it changes a lot materials to specular (include diffuse and glossy one). And new materials are in extreme specular index.

Hi TIG, the Vj isn't available so I've tried this one.
Octane does not open, the ocs file is'nt build by clicking the new.command

I don't think it's the exporter... on 'Render Frame' Octane doesn't update preexisting materials as you might have altered them after the last render. It also seems to default any new materials too ?
Compare the material settings in the Octane ocs against those in the mtl file that was made - you'll see that Octane has ignored the mtl values ???

hey, concerning that pink node, are you using 2.2 final there ?
is that a default created/imported material ?

Check the object.mtl file
The pink IOR value should be between 1.00 and 8.00
You should have a inccorect IOR value in your mtl-file.
eg.:
The parameter in the file should be "Ni 1.33" or so on and not "Ni 0.10" or "Ni 9.50"
