Hi,

I ve got a question regarding plugins and installations.

I got 2 computers one with c4d home use and another 3ds max work computer.

If I buy one standalone version with 2 plugins, can I install 2nd plugin on the work computer or they have to be on the same computer?

I see that there is licensing for 3 computers. In my case, should I buy 2 standalone and 2 plugins? How does it work? Is there any kind of floating licence?

Thank you!

There is currently no floating license option, however it is possible to deactivate on one machine, then activate on another.

The de-activation can be done either in the User Interface or via the accounts page on the website.
The specific steps to de-activate in the UI of Standalone and the Plugins vary, so it would be best to check out the documentation here:
http://home.otoy.com/render/octane-render/manuals/

The license server limits you to one re-activation per hour (for each license).
So, if the license had been previously activated within an hour of the re-activation attempt, the license will not activate.

Please note that all plugins require an activated OctaneRender Standalone license on the machine to function.
So to have two machines licensed simultaneously; one with Cinema 4D plugin and one with the 3DS Max plugin, you will need:
  • 1x OctaneRender™ for 3ds max® v2.x + Standalone Combo v2.x License
  • 1x OctaneRender™ for Maxon Cinema 4D v2.x beta + Standalone Combo v2.x License
