I just installed a 3 month trial of 2.23. It (demo) expires as of 15 July.
1. What then? What is the price for monthly subscription?
1b. Will I be able to use 2.22 on standard basis?
2. Is there limitation for 2 gpus only on 2.23 - I cannot enable 3rd neither 4th gpu.
3. What is the difference between 2.22 and 2.23?
4. Where are links to ORBX Media Player available on the Oculus Store on the Samsung Gear VR Innovator Edition?
5. Shall I get oculus to fully benefit from 2.23?
Great job OTOY!

I think OctaneVR is for users without standalone:
"All OctaneVR features are present in the 2.23 release of OctaneRender Standalone."
Where is the link to OctaneRender Standalone 2.23?

2.23 is not available in customer downloads - at least not for me when I just checked now. And the Metaverse link only goes back to the page where one can download the 3 month trial. A Note on that page says:
Anyone from Otoy have some clarification on this?
Unfortunately. There is no download link to 2.23 in that forum post, only the older version 2.22.2.Existing OctaneRender licensed customers should download OctaneRender Standalone 2.23 or newer, which containd all of OctaneVR's rendering features.
Anyone from Otoy have some clarification on this?

We didn't get around to build the regular version 2.23 yet, but we will do that today. Not much has changed compared to 2.22.2, except a bunch of bug fixes and the return of the "keep environment" option.

1) When the free trial expires July 15th, we will either keep it free or make it a monthly subscription, or just migrate users to retail version of OctaneRender. We are hoping to keep it free, but we can't make that call until we see what happens in the next 90 days. OVR is very much an experiment.smicha wrote:I just installed a 3 month trial of 2.23. 1b) If you have OctaneRender, you don't need OVR - just as it notes on the downloads page. This is very much for new users who have never bought OctaneRender.
2) This is not related to OR 2.23 - this is only in OctaneVR
3) Some changes for stereo pano cube map rendering that were added in OctaneVR for the submissions to the competition
4) Last I checked it was on the front page of the store when you launch the app.
5) You will want to get a Samsung phone and the GearVR. As John Carmack has been saying since we first started working on this with him - the combo of Octane + GearVR is going to give you the highest quality VR imagery you have ever seen.
