Hi mates,

i was just wondering how to set up a .mov file or a png sequence with octane.
When im loading the file in the channel as usual, in the animation tab i type in the frame range and the frame rate.

After applying it onto a geo only the first frame is showing up.
Are there any restriction regarding the file formats i am missing?

Thanks a lot,
Jonas

ps: i'm using 2.21 on both, c4d and standalone.

Hi skoeth,

where are your picture sequence files located?
Try putting them inside the tex folder of your project, if not already there. It can be in a subfolder, but inside the tex folder. That did it for me.
Otherwise try using jpg instead of png.

Hope that helps,
Greetings,

allright, the numbers + the location were the problems.
are movie files supported, or just picture sequences?

Movie can work on some situations due buffer reading system for unfound files. I know that's not clear explanation. Btw, what was the your file names?

okay thanks for the info.
the problem was, that the png sequence did not start with 00 like in the cinema timeline. It came out of an edit file, where it had like the overall frame numbers (ie: 50675-50702).

though, im used to say (like it actually seems to be at the moment) start at frame a and end at frame b,
regardless what the actual picture sequence is named.
