Note that we recommend peopel to post the last day of the competition, as mlody said, to keep peo-ple motivated.
ANyways, if we gety enough entries we'll open up some last minute extra prices (like before), so don't let this hold you from participating.
I disagree. I haven't even started on my animation, I'm knee-deep in work and I'll still find time to get this done before the deadline is over.
Everybody had the same deadline, so it's not like some people are at an advantage.
I personally believe that I can finish my animation within time, and indeed had made some effort and planning to accomplish it. Surely if more time could add more things (or render with more quality), but on the other hand, if given more time initially I would have planned differently, leaving more room to expand the animation itself, which already is bounded.
Anyway, I have no very clear whether I am interested to extend the deadline, it would not be much difference in my case. In any case, I believe that should not be extended much, because if so, would have to reschedule again.
In short, my vote is to keep the date, or extend a week or so, if someone really needed.
Cheers

I plan to participate by restoring an old character animation, and make it more punchy with Octane render.
I just hope I'll have enough time to finish before the deadline.
I'm planing an animation for my diplom project and would like to at least post a teaser for this competition so another 2 weeks would be saving for me and extra 2 weeks would be perfect
I'd love an extra coupe of weeks, but I think that it should stay the same. When I first read the post about the competition I started thinking about an animation and whether or not it could be completed in a month (starting from scratch). To me this posed a great challenge as a month to compose, model, texture, and render an animation over 20 long is difficult, but that's what made it so exciting. Sure the result might not be the epic feature that we all would hope, but that's the point of a deadline. Do what you can with the time given. Polished or not.
