Would there be a way, or maybe already is...a way to launch IPR with only selected objects? This would enhance my workflow significantly as my scenes are quite large and it takes a min or so to load up the entire thing...but I am only wanting to work on a single or few objects for surfacing. I understand the rest of the scene would not be there for reflections etc...but could still be nice to have lights/sky and the selected objects.
Thoughts?
Launch IPR with only Selected Objects - Feature Request

You can use the Render Layers in Octane menu
Assign same layer numbers to objects you want to see at the same time, then in IPR select that layer.
When IPR opens, it says "(all layers)" at first which may be problem in your case but definitely worth checking
But if that does not work for you, then just deactivate the objects you don't want in Scene Editor, IPR obeys that so no need to hide or something more complicated. It requires Reload in IPR but if you are adjusting surfaces, you can do that and then activate all objects and do Reload to get all normal.

Appreciate the thought
Would work similar to F11 Render Selected Object.

Rather than DE-selecting objects you don't wish to render in IPR which can be a chore on larger scenes with lots of objects, this plugin works very well to 'solo' selected items and lights, supports parent/hierarchy's. Bind to a hotkey, select whatever you like then reload IPR.

Thats exactly what I want...but would rather it be IPR/SELECTED command. I press IPR/SELECTED and IPR loads only the selected objects. I'm sure the script to turn on and off layers/objects is simple enough. Just not sure about how the behind the scenes of Octane integration works with LW. Would be great to not mess with the actual visibility of these objects in the scene, but rather just what is exported to IPR/Octane.MrFurious wrote:Rather than DE-selecting objects you don't wish to render in IPR which can be a chore on larger scenes with lots of objects, this plugin works very well to 'solo' selected items and lights, supports parent/hierarchy's.
