No one is telling you to wait forever. See now this is going to cause the wait to feel worst. The update is almost ready.

O no you have that backwards my friend. Your post does not make the wait feel worse. The worst thing you can do when you are late ( which this release is now very ) is go hide in the corner and not communicate with your paying customers. You keeping us up to date and sharing a screengrab has given me more faith with your one short post than all "official" comments posted here in the last 3 months combined. so good job, and thank you.
Total agreement here (although I took tugspx's post to mean that my negative comments would cause the wait to feel worse.) If the screen grab had been posted without the "not up for discussion" post, waiting forever wouldn't have even entered my mind.

And I'm with the others: if animation doesn't work with maxwell cards then the plugin doesn't exist.

It seems the whole problem here was that the plugin went on sale two years early.

On the plus side, it's forcing me to learn poser and carrara.

You guys better get it done before Daz 4.8 is fully released. Daz'll bork everything up, and you'll have another goal post to leap for.

I actually do not expect any updates until AFTER DS 4.8 has officially launched.

Maybe some updates DAZ implements for the Iray integration actually open up new solutions for the OctaneRender plugin as well?
I think so too. Why release a beta plugin for a beta software? Unfortunately, that has me thinking "soon" is going to be several more months. Also, did anyone else think the posted render looked a bit like an IRAY render? A bit flat? A bit IRAY carpaint preset? Just me?

These things are all dependent on material setup/lighting.

If the plugin release needs to wait for DS 4.8 to be released then it'll be another long wait I presume. It seems logical to wait for a stable DS 4.8 release but that leaves me with the feeling, "When will this ever end?" It could take months before DAZ has ironed out all the iRAY problems. I'm trying not to be pessimistic about a forthcoming plugin release but the logic of DS 4.8 compatibility seems too strong to ignore.

Ok guys, haven't forgotten about you. While it would be great to sit and chat for a while, we think time is best used to further the production of the plug-in. So from time to time we will drop in and give you a bit of update.

There is certainly a good concern about releasing the plug-in based on the Beta for Studio 4.8, while it is a bit harder to hit a moving target if you lead it just right and calculate trajectory, you can hit them from time to time
Certainly we wouldn't release a product as "final" against a beta, since there will always be changes that require patches and such.

About the car material on the last image, the material was dragged directly from the LiveDB library to the viewport, no other adjustment was made to it. Also the image used world light source not HDRI so lot less control over reflections and highlights. Note that Red-Spec texture kit was also drag and dropped into the viewport, this makes applying the material much easier, more tips and tricks to that end to be revealed later.

Animation section also being addressed with a few added features.

Then may your hands be steady, your aim be true and your feet swift :)

Good to know. I'd be somersaulting with joy if animation works properly, but I'm intrigued as to what those added features might be.

What exact issue are you having with animation? if I can get a summary of the outstanding issues we can redline them as they are addressed.
Now I know this could be opening a can of worms, but please we only need the base items (we reserve the right to provide the tricks/Easter eggs for you to discover) :)
