Also there was some problem with reflection layers. Probably reflection layer catch some diffuse component or albedo. With great regret
reflection direct not work
shadows also do not work
Enable Alpha Channel.

Thanks for trying but still they are unusable because you can't get smooth rounded edges on any curved edge.

It basically got broken with 2.20. You got results like this:
2_22.1_broken.png
while they should be like this:
2.22.2_fixed.png
You still need a reasonable triangle mesh to make rounded edges work well.

Hello everyone.

Octane is still a blast! Every single day! :DD

i just saw this and it would be AMAZING in octane:

just wondering.

keep up the amazing work you guys..

please check motion blur slow down. in earlier versions with or without render time stayed almost the same. Now with motion blur on it renders 3 times slower

maybe it is because before motion blur on was enough now it does not work any more unless vertex motion blur is also enabled maybe that's why it is slow

Cools stuff except 1:27 actual tracks white and blue should be switched for wear and tear. they should add an option to reverse in certain places

No geometry motion blur always had a speed hit, especially with vertex motion blur. You are probably confusing it with camera motion blur, which is practically for free.

What do you mean by this? If you can avoid vertex motion blur, avoid it.

Hi Abstrax

Like right now we are using madcar 3 plugin for car simulation. Geometry wheels get linked to madcar wheels and car body gets linked to madcar chassis. If I enable motion blur it just does not work. I also have to enable vertex motion blur and this creates great slow down even scene loading takes 2-3 times longer.
I don't know why I also need vertex mb on, since my mesh wheels are linked and they just spin (they are not deformed on sub level). Could you please check it. Also this is my early post where I mentioned that regular animated object does not get motion blur unless vertex mb is also checked (we use 3ds max plugin) http://render.otoy.com/forum/viewtopic. ... 94#p225894
Thank you !

Hi

Have you read the plugin manual?
To use object motion blur you have to set movable proxy option.

Is it possible now with this last version of octane fixed this problem about jagged/aliasing problem WITHOUT use the "filter size" (with only all blured effect) or dubble size render and rescale ... ?

When you import a ORBX and re-export it, all the textures and models are gone when you import it again.
