Hi you out there,
I need to change the path within a lot of mtl files.
And now I have to open each mtl file seperately and replace texts 'A' with text 'B'
and that is time consuming.
I was wondering if there is any way to do this faster.
Is there a macro out there, a piece of software, something smart, something...?
greetz,
HELP replace text in multiple mtl instead of seperately?

Are you using Notepad++?.. And using Replace (CTRL+H)?.. Do these As and Bs always have a character or word either in front or behind that makes these unique from other text, so you can always replace just these (like \A\)?....... If all three are yes, you should be able to burn thru these bastards with ease.
[1] Open all, or many MTLs
[2] Hit CTRL+H on first one and put in your Find What and Replace With text (path)
[3] Click Replace All
[4] Hit CTRL+W to close
[5] Now when you hit CTRL+H on next, Find What and Replace With text are already in there... Repeat on others with a real quick CTRL+H, Replace All, CTRL+W, and you are now a text-replacing robot.

Yeah, that way is better, if you are talking about many files. Never once have I had to find and replace on more than a handful of files, thus not warranting a special app just for that purpose, but it is nice to know this is out there.
