Hi guys!

I am having problems with texturing. I have an object with a base material and i want to camera map another texture on top of it. The other texture is with an alpha channel. But the problem is, when i add the other texture, the base texture disappears. So i end up with only the texture with the alpha channel, and the rest of the object is see-through.

Can anyone help?

You can't stack materials in Octane, unfortunately. So having a base material and trying to put a sticker on it, so to speak, won't work. You have to use a mix material, either in one of your channels, or use an actual mix material shader. Then again, I'm not sure when it comes to camera mapping, though.

what's base material? how are you trying to mix two? Is it octane material or c4d's? Would be happy to see a few pictures

Also. "Tile" and "seamless" dont's seem to work in the texture tag. Ideas?

As far as tiling, I believe you have to change the border mode in the image texture to something other than "wrap around".

yes correct. Tiling only can be done via border mode of imagetexture. Also c4d's stacking is not supporting. It's on my todo list, but that's pretty complex.

This is something that would be extremely useful to me as well. I used to use it in C4D material system nearly every day. Mix material works, but it's just a little more of a pain to set up and adjust on the model.

Just realized that stacking is not possible as well, wanted to add my voice to those who are requesting it. Its and essential part of my workflow in motion graphics and diagrammatic animation. For the moment I'll need to complete a project using the native renderer in C4d, would love to see this in the future, thanks!
