Hello,

today I discover the awesome particle engine of octane but I can't find any information on octane c4d manual.

1) Is there some kind of connection between shader and particle age or particle speed?

2) Is there some option to adjust particle size from particle age?

3) Xp sprite shader works in octane shaders? I'm trying right now to use it on some parameters but with no success.

Cheers.

Hi Javier-

1.) Unfortunately, no.

2.) Unless you can change the size settings via the Emitter options or the Generator options that actually changes geometry, I think the answer is again, no.

3.) Definite no.

The one thing that trips up most people is thinking that you are only stuck with spheres in XP + Octane, and totally neglecting the Generator object and what it does. Aside from that, though, the XP shaders do not translate to Octane.

thanks for correct answer. You can use generator object to create mesh or instances. It will work.

But we can run any cpu shader directly, gpu and cpu shading is different. We are converting cpu shaders to octane materials before rendering. Atm, we have not enough shaders to emulate this features. I'm hoping to have this kind of support on Octane 3.0 with Open shading language integration.
