Is Octane stable on CUDA 7 for OS X or should I wait? Running a Titan Black on an older Mac Pro can be sensitive enough as it is.

You only need to install the CUDA driver for Mac 6.5.x. You do NOT have to install the toolkit. If you have a CUDA driver and graphics driver combination that works with Octane on OSX, don't touch it. We will let you know when we switch to a newer CUDA version (which will probably not happen anytime soon).

Thank you. I wasn't going to install the toolkit, just got an alert that a CUDA driver update was available. But I hear you loud and clear, if it's working leave it alone. That's what I figured but didn't know if you'd started using it yet. I'll hold off until I hear otherwise.

Thanks~

running it here for tests and it seems not to have any impact or issues with 10.10.2, gtx 780 and gtx 980 cards.

EDIT: there ARE issues. i found out that rendering slows down about 20-30%. Tested with Octane + LW plugin.
so better NOT INSTALL it at for now, keep version 6.5.x!

maybe someone from the developers can confirm this?

cheers

just as a small update: after upgrading to yosemite 10.3.3, i had to install new web display drivers and did try to run octane with CUDA version 7.0.36 drivers. now, the render times seem to be on par with what they used to be when using version 6.5.x! stability also seems to be OK. all this on a macpro 5,1 with LW 2015, octane plugin and nvidia 780/ 980 cards.

cheers
