Hi guys,

Very interested in purchasing, but having a few problems testing.
I've been up and down the forum for a few hours now.

My scene is a composited background & plane combo, track info taken from Boujou etc.

I have managed to get some promising results with the Octane Live Viewer, in fact I'm pretty sure it's working great.. but anything rendered to the picture viewer renders some black and slightly off. See attached.

It seems to be rendering the Live Viewer resolution of 1000 x 600.

This could be something very simple I'm missing.
Is it possible this is a limitation of the Demo Version? or a Demo Version bug?

The exact same thing is happening with any test scene files (have tried 3 or 4).

Thanks
Steve from Ireland

Plugin slightly works different than other renderers. LV and picture viewer rendering should be same if you make correct settings. Can you show the some more details about render settings? Which renderbuffer type, are you using?

HI Aoktar..

I have banged my head off the desk / monitor for not noticing the "1000x600" limit on the download page. My apologies about that one

I have attached a screenshot of my scene (out of camera view). It's a background with a PNG Animation Front Projected, same for a Plane acting as a floor (or ground in this case).

I'm very close to default render settings.
The only thing I have done so far is ensure "Alpha Channel" is enabled. Currently using the Direct Lighting Kernel. Have also tried Pathtracing and PMC and both seem to work just as well. The real test for this work flow will come when my intended models for the piece are finished in the next day or two.

Thank you for the reply and kindness, even after my initial "1000x600" blunder lol.

Have you had many try this compositing / match moving type work flow with Octane before? I can't seem to find any of it on YouTube / Vimeo.

Hi,
the Demo version has some limitations, one is the render resolution in Picture Viewer limited to 1000x600 pixels:
